Helping Hand


One Mr. H. Nageswararao, working as Sub Editor, in Visakha Enadu Rural Desk, involved in a road accident on 19th of November, in which he lost his wife Daughter Ratnashri aged 7 and son Harsha (5) also injured and under treatment. Both legs of Nageswararao damaged and irrepairable almost. This family deserves help. He is a Brahmin. You may extend helping hand

HOME:

Brahmana Maha Sabha (Reg: 60/1971) was established and registered on 12th August 1971 in Tipparaju Venkatasubbaiah Kalyana Mandapam, under the guidance of many of the legendary Brahmin Personalities of those days.
It was non political but service oriented organization services extended all over Nellore District.

POOR BRAHMIN HIGHER EDUCATION HELPING TRUST:

With an intention to financially assist financially unsound Brahmin Students, in their pursuit of higher Education, Poor Brahmin Higher Education Helping Trust has been registered on 21.03.09 (Reg.No.98/Books VI/2009) under the aegis of BRAHMANA MAHA SABHA. Assistance will be given out of interest accrued on the Corpus fund donated/subscribed by the philanthropists of the Community. The Trust has been launched on 5th April 2009, by His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Vissayogi Viswamji, which is attended by members of the Community and the representative of such Trust of Machilipatnam.

Aims & Objectives

Depending on the needs of the days, Brahmana Maha Sabha was helping the needy for celebrating Marriages, Upanayanams, besides helping Senior Citizens, financially assisting poor Brahmins for conduct of obsequies, paying School fees and providing Books to the poor and deserving Students.
Constitution
3 (a) To promote literature, Science of the fine arts, and to encourage diffusion of useful knowledge.
(b) To encourage general and religious education according to Vedic principles, and to promote educational, medical and Charitable and Cultural institutions.
(c) To aid the spiritual, moral, Social and Cultural growth of the Hindu Brahmins or any other community of Nellore or other parts of India or elsewhere.
(d) To help the poor and to help the relief of any distress caused by the elements of nature such as famine, pestilence, fire, tempest, flood, earthquakes etc., and to assist the helpless poor in performing thread marriages, marriages, and the funeral rites of their relations.
(e) To conserve the Vedic heritage of liberty, autonomy and responsibility of
The local Vedic seats of Learning and Worship, while at the same time working in co-operation with other religious bodies.
(f) To promote the Vedic programmes and to formulate broad policies for the co operative efforts of Temples; renovate old temples, religious institutions, monuments, choultries etc.,
(g) To do everything proper, necessary, advisible or convenient for the
accomplishment of the objects herein above set forth and to do all other works beneficial to the community not falling under any of the foregoing purposes except that of profit motive.
(4) The Association shall be strictly non political, non sectarian in nature and activity; and shall be for religious, social and charitable purposes only
(5) The Income and property of the Association derived from charitable donations from any source and from proceeds of sale and lease or from any other source shall be used only to promote the objects of the Association and to meet its legitimate expenses; and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly in any of its members through any means.
(6) The members of the Association shall be those who are elected in the manner prescribed in the Articles of the Association.
(7) The management of the affairs of the Association is provided for in accordance with the Articles of the Association of which the members are:

Important Articles of the Sabha

Article 4 All persons born in the Hindu Brahmin Community and living in Nellore District can be members
Article 16 President: He shall preside over all the meetings of the Sabha. All the business of the sabha shall be carried on in the name of the President.
Article 17 Vice Presidents: There shall be five Vice Presidents and each Vice President shall be in charge of a sub committee to be formed fore the fulfillment of the objects of the Association i.e., Sabha. In the absence of the President, a Vice President shall preside overall the meetings of the Sabha and discharge all the functions of the President under these articles.
Article 18 Secretary: The Secretary shall keep all the records of Sabha. He shall attend to all correspondence and keep secure all documents relating to the Sabha. He shall keep correct minutes and records of the proceedings of the various meetings of the Sabha and issue notices for and convene the meetings, whenever necessary and shall exercise general supervision over the affairs of all meetings. He shall publish in brief the proceedings and resolutions of the Sabha and its committees. He shall report to the GB all matters relating to the Sabha arising out of actions taken by the Executive Committee. He shall read the report of the Executive Committee at the General Body meeting to be held annually.
The Secretary shall be entitled to keep an imprest cash of Rs.100/- and to receive any further necessary funds from the Treasurer for the day to day administration of the Sabha.
Article 20 The Treasurer shall receive and be in charge of all funds of the Sabha and its committee and shall submit annually to the Executive Committee and the G.B., the report of the audit of the Treasury by a Chartered Accountant.
Article 21 The Treasurer shall deposit all moneys, as and when received in a Scheduled Bank, or in such trust securities or other investments as authorized and approved by the E.C., provided however the Treasurer shall enable the Secretary to have an imprest cash of Rs.100/-
Article 22 The Treasurer shall make any payments or disbursements as sanctioned by the President, or the Executive Body.
Article 23 No money shall be withdrawn from the Bank or other assets utilized except with the prior sanction of the President or the E.C.,
Article 27 If a member of the Executive Committee absents himself from three consecutive meetings of the E.C., without sufficient reason he shall be deemed to have vacated the Office. Such vacancies shall be filled by co option by the E.C.,

5. Approaching the People’s representatives for sanction of House Site Plots to poor Brahmins who are Professional Archakas, Purohits, and Cooks.
6. Yoga classes in Shirdi Sai temple by the Treasurer of Brahmana Mahasabha
Dr. Sarveypalli Ajayakumar, Vice President of Brahmana Maha Sabha, being the Chairkman of Tipparaju Venkatasubbaiah Trust, has rendered help in

2. Financially assisting poor Brahmin Students of Xth Class and Intermediate during 2008 and 2009

TRUST AIMS :

THE POOR BRAHMIN HIGHER EDUCATION SUPPORTING TRUST (Regd: 98/IV/2009)

1) To give financial support to meritorious poor Brahmins for their higher education and to make them responsible Life Members and so on of the P.B.H.E.T., in future once they complete their education and start earning. This is to ensure that the P.B.H.E.T will continue to function for ever in the history of the Earth.
2) Till the Trust attains the capacity to fund more than 12 students and in amount till it attains a capacity to fund more than 50,000/- in total to all the Beneficiaries in a single financial year, all the Beneficiaries should be from Nellore District. Once the trust attains the capacity to help more students, 20% of the students can be from other districts till the society attains the level to fund 30 students and a fund of at least 1, 00,000/- in a single financial year. After crossing this capacity and attaining higher capacity, the society can fund to a maximum of 20 students from other districts and states, but satisfying that clause that it funds more than 30 students from Nellore District in that financial year.
3) To further develop and provide free hostels with all facilities to poor and deserving Brahmin students going for higher education.
4) To promote and develop interest in the Young Brahmin students to study well and achieve higher goals, and at the same time to maintain the traditions and good ethics of Brahmins.
5) To provide Books and stationary to the deserving Brahmin students.
6) To collect funds from Brahmins for assistance to this Trust, and to make them responsible members of this society.
7) To provide honor and recognition to highly meritorious students (at least District rank of 1 to 5 or a state rank of 1 to 10 or a national level rank of 1 to 10 ) and to give certificates of awards and honor them, irrespective of their economic status.
8) To develop all the factors that is ideal for a good healthy society.

SELECTION OF THE BENIFICIARY:

All the Beneficiaries should be only from the Brahmin community. They should be poor.
After an application is fulfilling all the required criteria to be a beneficiary, and after the report of the enquiry committee, the application along with all other such applications is put forward in the Board Meeting.
In the meeting, the selection is by voting system. The vote of a Life Member carries 2 points. The vote of a Patron carries 5 Points. The vote of an Award Member carries 8 Points. The total points are calculated for each candidate and the beneficiaries are listed as per the points attained.
The Beneficiary should finally agree and give an undertaking with all the necessary proof documents requested by the organizing committee secretary. The undertaking should be attested or preferably registered. The decision whether the bond should be registered or just attested may be decided by the organizing committee. However registration of the bond is preferable unless and until the registration is costing more than 500/-. The original By-Laws recommend considering the inflation in the future years to come regarding the amount specified.
The Person recommending a particular candidate is not responsible and is not like a guarantor for the written declaration of the beneficiary.
